$1,000 Brian E. Kier Arts Scholarship

Brian Kier was a revolutionary leader in the arts for Davenport School of the Arts community. He brought hope and change through embracing the power of how the arts can influence the developing child. Mr. Kier was known for always finding the resources necessary to help support the needs for faculty, staff, and students. He always took great pride in watching how the arts impact affected positive change in the lives of the DSA family. The Brian E. Kier Arts scholarship was created to help carry on his legacy of supporting the Davenport School of the Arts students as they pursue a professional future in the arts post high school.

The $1,000 Brian E. Kier Arts scholarship is specifically for a Davenport School of the Arts Alumni graduating high school senior that is continuing their study in the arts in college.

Requirements and Information:

• Application must be filled out by clicking on this link: The Brian E. Kier Art Scholarship Application or the QR code.

• Student applicant must be a Davenport School of the Arts Alumni.

• Student applicant must be pursuing a degree in the arts.

• Student applicant must submit 3 letters of recommendation (2 from their current school and 1 from the community.) It is recommended that at least one of the letters be from an arts teacher that the student had post DSA.

• Student applicant must submit an essay addressing the following:

As a Davenport School of the Arts Alumni how have you been able to use your arts experiences to be a leader? How are your arts experiences impacting your life? What major in the arts are you pursuing and why?

• Deadline for Submission: Saturday, April 1, 2023 by 4:00 p.m..

• Scholarship applicants will be screened for eligibility before being considered.

• Eligible applications will be reviewed and selected by a representative from each of the current DSA Arts departments and Brian Kier.

• The scholarship recipient will be notified by Monday, May 1, 2023.
