DSA PRESENTS "POWER HOUR"
Students at DSA are getting a boost toward mastering the FCAT with the new "Power Hour" every Wednesday. The new venture takes advantage of the early release schedule, allowing an extra period from 2:05 to 3:05 on Wednesdays. This extra period will be used by grade level teachers to work with groups and individuals on specific academic areas that need improvement. Every Wednesday, students will follow the early release times for periods 1-8 ; then at 2:05, they will meet in groups to work on academic skill areas. Students will receive more personalized, intensive instruction for areas of weakness during Power Hour. Teachers in the arts (Music, Dance, Drams, and Visual Arts) will also participate with enrichment activities and arts integration geared toward strengthening specific academic weaknesses. Of course, on actual early release Wednesdays, students will be released to go home at 2:05; but, all other Wednesdays, students and parents can look forward to successful acheivement through this power-packed hour!
